John qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2018 at a firm in Bristol.

John moved to Cornwall and joined the Court of Protection team at Coodes Solicitors. He deals with a wide gamut of Court of Protection applications including property and finances and health and welfare. John frequently supports clients in making applications for statutory wills, deputyships, permission to sell, adding and removing trustees and contentious matters. John also works with colleagues to manage deputyship administrations, including panel appointments.

John has also been appointed as a member of the Mental Capacity (Welfare) Panel to support clients with applications to contest standard authorisations, and other welfare matters.

John supports the development and training of mental capacity law and regularly authors public factsheets for Alzheimer’s Society.
